About

Born in South Africa, Ryan Hyman spent a year and a half studying in Israel at a prestigious post high school center after which he received his Bachelors degree in New York. He began his professional career in the exciting world of college admissions after which he was wooed away to the ever-changing world of commercial real estate finance (his question to the principal of the company who had personally sought him out: “what exactly is commercial real estate finance?”).
After a decade in real estate, Ryan realized that he had a burning desire to return to the nonprofit sector. This led to him to create the first development department for a private high school in Teaneck, New Jersey. Ryan accepted the call to serve as Director of Development for an international nonprofit’s west coast region. He moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and as part of his development work, created a young leaders initiative that became the model for other such groups within the organization around the United States.

In 2015, Ryan became the Director of Institutional Advancement at another private high school, thrilled to stay and take advantage of the amazing Southern California weather. At the school, he helped re-engineer the annual trustees event, created an Alumni Association Board and ran a high energy, 24 hour fundraising challenge, amongst his other successes.

In 2018, Ryan accepted the role of National Director of Development at the world’s largest Jewish bone marrow registry where he created a development strategy that opened new communities for the organization and raised millions of dollars to dramatically expand the registry.

Ryan’s Ruminations brings decades of experience to his listeners to help their own professional development and their personal impact on the world!
